ABC announced Thursday that it will host the September 10 election debate between Donald Trump and Vice President Kamala Harris. The AP recalls that the former president previously announced on his social media that he would not participate in the debate hosted by ABC.
Trump had announced that he would like conservative Fox News to sponsor and host the debate, but on Wednesday – as the AP writes – he began to change his mind.

In early August, the former president said he would either meet with Kamala Harris for a pre-election debate on September 4, or “not meet at all.” He also said he had agreed with Fox News on that date for the debate with the Democratic candidate.
Pressure from Harris’ team
However, Harris’ campaign team pushed for the debate to be held on ABC on September 10, and the vice president criticized Trump for trying to back out of previous agreements to host the debate on the network.
The Sept. 10 debate was expected to be the second such matchup between Trump and President Joe Biden, who has announced he will not seek reelection.
