A vacuum cleaner that has accumulated yellowed grease and dirt can easily be restored to brand new condition.
One woman was tired of using conventional cleaning products that made her use too much energy to clean.
“This is really getting on my nerves,” he admitted, and wanted to find a simpler, cheaper solution—and then he found it.
“I’m doing my happy dance when I post this video,” she beamed, introducing viewers to the “magic potion” on YouTube.
“Look no further, my friend,” he sent. “This really works!” In the video you can see the huge difference between a dirty and a clean fan.
A YouTuber called Thoughts for Happy Minds tried the “natural way” and combined baking soda, salt and vinegar.
“See the difference,” he said, showing off the dirty and clean range hoods. “That’s pretty amazing, isn’t it?”
Using a large oven pan, he poured hot water boiled and a mixture of salt and baking soda.
“The amount depends on how fatty they are,” he clarified. “Set the filters [extractor fans] in and add a little vinegar.”
He added: “I don’t think you need exact amounts, just put as much as you think will get the dirty job done.
“Let it simmer in this magical fat-busting potion for 5-10 minutes, then wash it off with water.”
Not a necessity, but some could then “give it a bit of dish soap” – once dry, the range hood can be put back in its original position.
“If you feel the need to repeat this process, feel free,” he added. “Welcome!”
Fans praised the video, with some saying it “worked wonders” and others saying what a “great job” the magic solution has done.
One commenter, Steven Meade, said: “I tried this exactly as pictured and the results were fantastic.
“Thanks for sharing this, and especially for making it short and to the point…it really works.”
Another said: “This is amazing! I haven’t washed my filters since I moved into my house (over eight years ago) and they were disgusting. All three were cleaned like new in 15 minutes.”
