It was the first new Bentley under Volkswagen’s management, and it continues to shape the brand to this day: no car is as important to Britons as the Continental GT. When the next generation is launched before the start of the year, the two-door model will be the most powerful model yet from Volkswagen’s prestigious sister company.
According to the manufacturer, its price starts from 246,000 euros, and if you want to buy the powerful luxury car as a convertible, you have to budget 271,500 euros. Bentley has now announced these prices.
Less displacement, more power
Instead of the previous 6.0-litre V12, Bentley is installing a 4.0-litre V8 petrol engine in the new Continental GT and complementing it with an electric motor and buffer battery to create a plug-in hybrid system.
Not only does it have a range of up to 80 kilometers purely electric, but, according to Bentley, it has an unprecedented system power of 575 kW/782 hp, almost 20 percent more than a twelve-cylinder engine. This shortens the coupe’s 0-100 acceleration time from 3.6 to 3.2 seconds, while the top speed remains at 335 km/h. According to the manufacturer, the same engine will soon be available in the Flying Spur sedan.
