The president of FERJ (Football Federation of Rio de Janeiro), Rubens López, was invited by Botafogo to be the head of the black and white delegation in Montevideo, Uruguay. The experienced manager is a reinforcement of sorts behind the scenes in this semi-final, with the atmosphere between Peñarol’s leaders and the Black and Whites far from friendly.

Rubinho, as he is known, is also the CBF vice-president and the invitation came from Botafogo CEO Thairo Arruda. The intention is that the director, because of his extensive experience, will help with institutional relations in Conmebol.

The leader is on the same plane that takes the delegation to the Uruguayan capital. In tomorrow’s match at 21:30 in the semi-final of the Libertadores, Botafogo could even lose by four goals and qualify for the final. If the Uruguay team wins by a margin of five goals, we will have penalties.
