The military is trying but still cannot find Russian air facilities

The third day of the search has ended – the soldiers of the Territorial Defense Forces have not yet found the unidentified Russian aerial object that flew from Ukraine to Polish territory on Monday. The Operational Command of the Armed Forces announced that the search operation would resume on Thursday morning.

Since Monday, searches have been underway for an unidentified aerial object that entered Polish territory and disappeared from radar in the municipality of Tyszowce, in Lublin, located in a straight line about 30 kilometers from the border with Ukraine.

The spokesman for the Operational Command of the Armed Forces announced that The third day of searching ended on Wednesday night. No suspicious aerial objects have been found so far. The operation will continue on Thursday – added Lieutenant Colonel Jacek Goryszewski.

On Monday and Tuesday Soldiers from the Territorial Defense Forces searched a total of more than 2,800 hectares. On Wednesday, they checked the area west of Wolica Śniatycka (Zamosc county), including: Bródek, Dąbrowa, Barchaczów (Łabunie municipality). Horse patrols, helicopters and FlyEye UAVs also took part in the action.

The COD spokesperson added that A decision will also be made tomorrow whether the search will continue on Friday..

Probably an unmanned aerial vehicle entered Polish territory on Monday at 6:43 am near the Ukrainian city of Chervonogorod. The object disappeared from radar in the commune of Tyszowce, south of Hrubieszów.

As reported by the Operational Commander of the Armed Forces, General Maciej Klisz, “it is not a missile, it is not a missile, neither hypersonic, nor ballistic, nor a guided missile”and probably an “unmanned aerial vehicle-type object”.

A DORSZ spokesperson later added that the flight path, speed and altitude at which the object was moving allows us to assume that it was an unmanned aircraft, e.g.that the Russians use when they attack Ukraine. This object has not been viewed, so we are not 100% sure – noted Lieutenant Colonel Jacek Goryszewski.

The military does not rule out that the object may not have fallen in Poland, but may have flown further or returned.but radar systems failed to observe it.

On the night of Sunday to Monday, Russia held massive missile and drone strike on fifteen regions of Ukraine. Explosions were heard, among others: in Lviv Oblast, neighboring Poland, and Lutsk, an hour away from the border, where the attack damaged, among others, a residential building.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said on social media that Russia has fired over a hundred missiles of various types and about 100 Shahed-131/136 attack drones.

Since the beginning of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, missile strikes have repeatedly violated the Polish border. In November 2022, a bomb fell on the village of Przewodów in the Lublin Voivodeship, killing two people. In turn, in December of the same year, the Russian Kh-55 rocket fell in the forest near Bydgoszcz, and its remains were announced in April 2023.

Moreover, on several occasions, missiles entered Polish airspace near the border with Ukraine for several tens of seconds, but left it without landing on Polish territory.
