This was announced by the company that oversees the National Defense Secretariat (Sedena) on its X account (@TrenMayaMX) which stated:
“We inform users and the general public that, due to the possible impact of tropical storm ‘Helene’, routes 603 Playa del Carmen-Felipe Carrillo Puerto, and 604 Felipe Carrillo Puerto-Cancún scheduled for today, December 24, have been suspended. September”.
This was continued by the National Defense as a preventive measure to ensure the safety of passengers and service personnel on board, because the weather conditions were predicted to be:
“This could include heavy rain and strong winds in the states of Quintana Roo, Yucatán, and Campeche.”
