Reporters at liberal news outlets appear to have been stunned when voters preferred Donald Trump to Kamala Harris in street interviews.
One clip went viral on the X show, in which broadcaster Don Lemon interviewed guests in Atlantic City, NJ, and found that many agreed they felt more financially stable under a Trump presidency.
And in one toe-curling exchange, a voter laughs in Lemon’s face after the reporter tried to argue with his personal experience. In another instance, she sensationally asks a male interviewee if his resistance to Harris is because “she’s a woman.”
In another excerpt from left-leaning ABC News, a woman says she’s considering voting for Trump because Harris “has just been exposed to a lot of lies.”
It comes after it emerged that the Democratic presidential nominee’s “honeymoon” with the liberal media looked set to crash after his “communist” plan to control food prices sparked outrage. Critics have previously suggested that Harris has benefited from “propaganda” among left-leaning publications while enjoying strong polling numbers since taking over from Joe Biden.
One clip went viral on the X show, in which broadcaster Don Lemon interviewed guests in Atlantic City, NJ, and found that many agreed they felt more financially stable under a Trump presidency.
Notably, he was featured on the cover of Time magazine, despite not giving media interviews during the first three weeks of his presidency.
But the latest clips appear to show that the media’s adulation is failing to sway ordinary voters, despite several polls appearing to show Harris leading her opponent.
Lemon’s clip, which has 2.1 million views, begins with him asking a stranger on the street, “Who do you support?”
The man replies: “Trump to victory.”
As Lemon studies her further, she continues, “I can’t call it right now. But I just feel it [Harris] not good for the president. He’s good for Vice. But not a real leading role in the country.
The reporter then asks the young man if his opinion has “anything to do with being a woman”, to which he emphatically replies, “no”.
She added: “Because I feel like a woman, I’m not going to give it to you.”
Another voter explained that “he has no experience.”
An incredulous Lemon replied: ‘He’s the Vice President! He is a senator.
The female voter is then described to the reporter: “I want Donald Trump. I feel like we need someone with a stronger background in the military and the world in general.
She later added: “I know nobody likes him, but we had good times with Donald Trump. Our economy was good. Life was good.’
A fourth voter tells a reporter, “I want to support the Democratic Party, but I mean, Trump looks like he’s got it in the bag right now.”
Lemon is heard telling two voters that “the statistics show” that the economy was stronger under Biden than under Trump, a claim both of them dismiss.
The video was posted by Colin Rugg, co-founder of Trending Politics, and garnered a lot of comments criticizing Lemon.
One said: “The level of authority to tell someone they are wrong about their own financial situation is truly mind-blowing.”
Another wrote: “Love seeing Don Lemon fall on his face. Sorry Don, people really like our Don!
A third comment read: “He tried to deny a person’s true experience. Disgusting.’
A separate clip from an ABC street interview in Wisconsin has also gone viral on X, racking up 36,000 views.
A young black woman is filmed telling an interviewer, “I’m leaning toward Trump.”
When probed, the voter explains that he thinks Kamala is recycling many of the policies Trump has already promised.
“A lot of the things that Kamala is saying are a lot of things that Trump has said, like no taxes on tips. That was something that Trump kind of repeated beforehand. He’s just stuck with a lot of lies.
The comment was in reference to a statement supported by Harries on Monday, in which he advocated eliminating the tip tax.
Trump was the first to propose the policy, which is popular among service industry workers.
A separate clip from an ABC street interview in Wisconsin has also gone viral, garnering 36,000 views
It prompted the Republican candidate to hit out at his opponent on his platform, Truth Social.
He wrote: ‘Kamala Harris, whose ‘Honeymoon’ season is OVER and is about to be voted off, just copied my TIP-TAX policy.
The difference is he doesn’t, he just wants it for political purposes! This was TRUMP’s idea – He has no ideas, he can only steal from me. Remember that Kamala has proposed the BIGGEST TAX INCREASE IN HISTORY – It won’t happen. MAKE AMERICA POSSIBLE AGAIN!!!’
Left-leaning outlets have come under scrutiny for giving Harris unfairly positive coverage.
Former Republican congressman Zach Wamp said last week that the current vice president was “honeymooning.”
He told Sky News Australia: “The media has kind of helped repackage him as if he’s not a progressive and not a real liberal. Nobody’s really holding him to account.
Harris has also been criticized for obsessively avoiding media interviews. He has not given a single sit-down interview or official press conference, even though his presidential campaign has lasted three weeks.
Similarly, journalist Glenn Greenwald wrote in X: “The way the American corporate media turned Kamala Harris from a national embarrassment to a trailblazer overnight — without even pretending to care about anything she thinks or believes — is a powerful testament to the power of the science of propaganda.
