A popular animated film Ramayana: The Legend of Prince Rama is finally ready to make his theatrical debut in India. The film will release across India in Hindi, English, Tamil and Telugu on October 18. Well-known screenwriter V Vijayendra Prasad, who has written e.g. Baahubali, to Bajrangi Bhaija, and RRRhas added his creative input to this adaptation. In an Instagram post, Geek Pictures India announced the film’s release date on Thursday. Sharing the teaser, they wrote, “The story is as old as time and forever alive in every heart. Ramayana: The Legend of Prince Rama hitting theaters across India in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu and English on October 18th! Teaser out now.”
Arjun Aggarwal, co-founder of Geek Pictures India, said in a statement, “This version of ‘Ramayana’ will break all kinds of new records as this marks the beginning of a new era of Indo-Japanese collaboration. It is a dynamic, highly vivid and colorful rendition of Ram’s story and we believe , that it finds an audience voice for all ages and places, Hindustan Times reported.
Japanese-Indian animated film, Ramayana: The Legend of Prince Rama describes the story of Ramayana. The film was originally released in 1992 and was directed by Koichi Sasaki of Japan and Ram Mohan of India. The film was designed and produced by Yugo Sako. Ramayana: The Legend of Prince Raman’s narrative focuses on the title character, who is an incarnation of the god Vishnu. Rama goes on a quest to save his wife Sita after she is captured by the evil king Ravana.
The film covers all important events The Ramayanaincluding Lord Rama’s banishment, Sita’s abduction, Hanuman’s surrender and the final battle between Lord Rama and Ravana. The animated film is quite a colorful hand-drawn animation, a catchy soundtrack and a realistic retelling of a great Indian epic.
Ramayana: The Legend of Prince Rama will make its theatrical debut during the festive season of Dussehra and Diwali. It is distributed across India by Geek Pictures India, AA Films and Excel Entertainment. The release of the film comes before Ranbir Kapoor The Ramayanawhich is currently in production.
