The industry has a problem, there is a lack of export orders [WYWIAD]

The Polish manufacturing PMI has been below the 50-point mark for more than two years, but August’s reading of 47.8 points was better than market expectations and higher than July’s. Is there a revival in the industry?

There are few positive signs in the PMI reading. The fact that the August reading was slightly better than the July reading is the effect of a low base and does not change the general impression that industrial processing is in big trouble. This applies to both new domestic orders, export orders and current production. Looking at the structure of the PMI, the only silver lining is the first increase in inventories at Polish companies in several months. This is probably the result of the need to stock up in advance due to the difficult geopolitical situation and risks resulting from, among other things, events in the Middle East. However, overall, the August PMI does not give positive signals for industry, especially in terms of export orders.

Are we mainly talking about orders from Germany?
