Bejda on the challenges for the Polish army
During the ceremony to the security threats and challenges it faces Polish Army the deputy minister commented Bejda “The Eastern Shield is one of the largest investments in national security and border defence in Poland’s post-war history. A continuous transformation of the Polish Armed Forces plays a key role in meeting these challenges. We are working hard to improve our capabilities in all domains – on land, at sea, in the air, in space and in cyberspace. These are not just words. By allocating 4% of GDP to defence by 2024, Poland is a leader in NATO in this regard. This is not an easy task, given the overall budgetary expenditures and an economy that is still recovering from the challenges we have faced in recent years. But I am happy that defence spending receives widespread support,” he noted.
Bejda on military cooperation with NATO
Vice Minister Bejda In his speech he emphasized the good progress so far military cooperation between Poland and the USAboth bilaterally and in format NATO. He also declared his readiness to strengthen arms and industrial cooperation between the countries.
“I would like to emphasize that we highly value the United States as a strong and reliable ally and our main partner in building defense capabilities. The support we receive is crucial for the modernization of our weapons. This partnership gives us access to the latest technologies and training. Our main joint modernization programs include Patriot and HIMARS systems, Abrams tanks, Apache helicopters, ISR aerostats and, of course, the F-35. There is no doubt that this cooperation brings benefits to both parties – Poland has access to the best possible military equipment and the US industry can further develop its presence in Europe. It could be even more profitable for all of us if American defense companies invested more in Poland. As a user of leading American products in most areas, I declare that there are no limits to military, technical and industrial cooperation between Poland and the US,” Bejda said.
In my opinion Ministry of National Defense Thanks F-35 aircraft of the Polish Armed Forces become part of the elite that increases defense capabilities in this part of Europe. Poland will receive from USA 32 F-35 aircraftthat combined with ours F-16 will strengthen capabilities to protect Poland’s eastern border and therefore its eastern border NATO flanks.
