The first attack by Hezbollah. Sirens sounded in the Israeli capital

On Wednesday morning in Tel Aviv, but also among others, the emergency sirens sounded in the city of Netanya. Moments later, the Israeli army reported intercepting a surface-to-surface missile from Lebanon fired towards the Israeli capital. The missile was intercepted by the Israeli missile defense system called David’s Slingshot (this system intercepts long- and medium-range missiles).

Several airlines suspend flights to Tel Aviv Airport

It was Hezbollah’s first rocket attack on central Israel. So far, the organization has fired at the border between Israel and Lebanon. There were no reports that falling Hezbollah rocket debris caused any damage.

David Ben Gurion International Airport in Tel Aviv, despite initial reports of flight delays, was operating normally, with takeoffs and landings taking place according to the flight plan. However, several airlines – including Wizz Air and Aegean Airlines – cancelled their flights through Tel Aviv Airport until 11:00.

The September 25 attack was the first rocket attack on central Israel since September 15, when Yemen’s Houthis fired a ballistic missile at Israel.
