In an interview with TVN24, Renata Surma said late in the evening that due to the overflowing waters under the top of the dam, the situation was becoming “very difficult and dramatic”. She added that the wave could appear in Bystrzyca Kłodzka around 1 pm. When asked about residents’ reactions to the evacuation call, she said that “everyone remembers 1997, then some people sobered up”. She added that people who did not want to leave their homes changed their minds when they learned that water was overflowing the dam.
