““The protection standards to which the so-called Kamilek Law of July 2023 is subject have already been adopted in the Catholic Church in Poland and are gradually being implemented,” said the President of the Polish Bishops’ Conference, Bishop Tadeusz Wojda SAC. He noted that the law was adopted with openness.
By August 15, all institutions whose services are used by children must implement so-called standards for the protection of minors. These have, among other things: to help you detect early signs that your child may be harmed or to protect him or her from it.
In a statement sent to PAP on Monday, the president of the Polish Episcopal Conference, Bishop Tadeusz Wojda SAC, reported that the protection standards required by the so-called Kamilek Law of July 2023.

He stated that “the Church has accepted this law with openness” because it addresses the issue of child protection in a broad and comprehensive way, as a general social program. He emphasized that this type of concern is consistent with the spirit of the Gospel.
Archbishop Wojda announced that, among others, a series of training sessions will be attended by clergy and lay people who serve in parishes and are responsible for various church units. He announced that educational and preventive activities are also planned to disseminate knowledge about child protection and its correct application.
By introducing these norms, the Church engages in social activities aimed at creating safe environments free from all forms of violence.

He announced that the standards would be made public in every church unit. Archbishop Wojda encouraged people to read them “in order to deepen the awareness of our community about the protection of minors, which will be useful in building a world that is safe for children.” He also thanked all those involved in preparing the standards and conducting the necessary training.
