On Friday afternoon at around 3:45 p.m., firefighters responded to a hay ball fire on a farm in Gangelt-Hohenbusch. For reasons that remain unclear, about ten bales of hay caught fire near the open sheep pen on the farm.
Jülich Street was briefly closed due to an accident
The sheep had been evicted from their owners when 51 emergency services arrived, but the owner had minor injuries from smoke inhalation and was taken to a nearby hospital. After around ten minutes, emergency services managed to control the fire so there was no further danger.
