Dehumidifiers absorb excess moisture from the air, which is perfect for drying and washing in the winter months.
They can also help prevent mold and moisture in the home, making them worry-free for many.
However, it can be tricky to know where to place them in your home, especially if it’s a large space.
Holly Male from Duux told Express.co.uk: “The best placement of a dehumidifier in a room depends on a number of factors.”
These factors include the location of the room, the source of moisture and the type of dehumidifier.
The expert added: “If there is a certain source of moisture in the room, such as a bathroom or kitchen, placing the dehumidifier close to the source will improve its efficiency.
“To manage overall humidity, place a dehumidifier in a central location so it is evenly distributed throughout the room.”
It is important to keep the device away from direct heat sources such as radiators or radiators, as these can affect its efficiency.
The expert also recommended avoiding placing the dehumidifier in a tight corner or closed space, as it needs good air flow from all sides to function.
If you haven’t got your dehumidifier yet or are thinking about getting one, Holly also explained why they are recommended for every home.
The expert said: “Drying fish indoors can be challenging without a tumble dryer. Dehumidifiers remove moisture from the air, speed up the drying of clothes and prevent the formation of damp smells.
“When windows are closed, moisture from drying clothes collects inside, causing condensation, damp stains, wet windows and black mold.
“A dehumidifier removes this excess moisture and maintains a healthy indoor environment.”
To maximize drying efficiency, the expert recommended avoiding overloading when drying clothes.
Give each piece of clothing better air flow and use the dryer in a smaller room to speed up the drying process.
Holly continued: “Recreate drying conditions outside by placing a dehumidifier on one side of the drying rack and a fan on the other.
“When the fan vibrates next to the wet laundry, it causes the air to flow through the clothes, while the dehumidifier helps to dry them.”
