Technicians from the agency Rio + Saneamento continue to repair the water main that broke, on Monday (30), in Realengo, in the western region of Rio.

Due to the incident, water supplies were affected in several neighborhoods in the northern region, including Acari, Ancheta, Coelho Neto, Cordopovil, Vicente de Carvalho and Iraga. Moreover, cities in Baixada-Fluminense, such as Nilopolis, São João de Mirite and Mesquita, also face supply problems.

Technicians have been working 16-hour days and working collaboratively with agents from the City Council and Light to solve the problem. Supply is expected to return to normal within 72 hours after repairs are completed.

Meanwhile, the recommendation is for residents of affected areas to save water to minimize outages. The concessionaire and authorities continue to monitor the situation and provide updated information to residents.
