An activist of the PiS Youth Forum, accused by politicians and supporters of the current ruling coalition and part of the media of contributing to the suicide death of the teenage son of Civic Coalition MP Magdalena Filiks, has been acquitted of the charges brought against him by the Disciplinary Committee of the University of Warsaw.
A year and a half of a terrible state of tarnishing my public image, systemic hatred and spitting from left-wing liberal circles, multiplication of slanders, aiming to eliminate me from public life, expel me from the university and end my recent political career. The end!

The Szafarowicz case
In March last year, the media reported the suicide of teenager Mikołaj Filiks, the son of one of the MPs of the then opposition KO. A 15-year-old boy was the victim of a paedophile, and the man who committed the disgusting acts was convicted. We are talking about Krzysztof F., a former PO activist from the West Pomeranian Voivodeship. The case was described at the end of 2022 by Radio Szczecin journalist Tomasz Duklanowski, who pointed out that the victims were the sons of a “well-known opposition MP”.
Some internet users, including Oskar Szafarowicz and Dariusz Matecki, currently a member of the Sovereign Poland parliament, published online photos of a man convicted of pedophilia with a member of the KO party, following media reports. In February 2023, the parliamentarian’s son took his own life, and the following month, information about his death appeared in the media.
The opposition at the time, including MP Magdalena Filiks herself, and some media outlets accused them of “persecuting” a 15-year-old boy and having his details leaked, among others. Duklanowski, Matecki and Szafarowicz were then subjected to a wave of hatred.
Szafarowicz, a student at the University of Warsaw who is actively involved in politics, appeared before the disciplinary committee of his university. The complaint was filed by an activist of the Union of European Democrats, Daria Brzezicka, who studies at the same faculty.
