From 2014 to 2023, Wójcicki served as CEO of YouTube. She has been associated with Google, which took over YouTube, almost since its inception—in 1998, she rented her garage to Sergey Brin and Larry Page so they could establish Google Inc. From 1999, she headed Google’s marketing department, and a year later became vice president of the company. She was responsible for creating the first doodles and introduced several products, including Google Images, Google Books, and Google Video. Wojcicki was a vocal advocate for the purchase of YouTube. Wojciki has worked at the company for almost 25 years. She stepped down from both positions in 2011. In 2014, she was named CEO of YouTube.

Susan Wojcicki has been included in Forbes’ list of the 100 most influential women twice. In 2011, she was ranked 16th, and a year later – 25th.
