On Monday afternoon, a sulfur leak occurred in one of the boarding houses in Busko-Zdrój (Świętokrzyskie Voivodeship).
As the press officer of the District Headquarters of the State Fire Service in Busko-Zdrój, Brigadier Junior, said in an interview with RMF FM. Piotr Dziedzic, the pipe supplying sulfur to the facility broke, causing the substance to spill into part of the basement.
There was a very high concentration of sulfur and as a result of this concentration three people were poisonedwho were evacuated outside by firefighters. The emergency medical team then “took over” these people and transported them to hospitals. – he added.
Firefighters are still working at the scene. Among others, the following people arrived at the scene: Kielce chemical and ecological rescue group.
At this point, we are looking at what concentrations of sulfur we are dealing with and later we will possibly neutralize and pump it all to dedicated treatment plants. – said the press officer of the Busko-Zdrój State Fire Service.
The firefighter emphasized that “At the moment, there is no threat to local residents or nearby boarding houses and sanatoriums”.
