Many migrants come to Europe expecting to be “free riders.” We do not agree with this, President Andrzej Duda said on the “Full Measure” program broadcast on local American television networks. Duda compared the situation on the border between Poland and Belarus with the situation on the southern border of the United States.
The Polish president commented on the Sunday news programme in the section dedicated to irregular immigrants in Europe. He referred, among other things, to attempts to cross the Polish border by migrants brought from Russia and Belarus, and to the problems with immigration in the west of the continent.
Russia seeks to cause destabilization and chaos. If someone comes to Poland with the false belief that they will stay here and get everything for free, that they will have a better life without having to work, we do not agree with that. If you want to live among us, work, do something to earn a living, it is very simple.
– said the president.
When asked whether immigrants come to Europe expecting to be “parasites,” Duda responded that “in many cases that is the case.”
And that’s why we have such a reaction in Western Europe.
– he added.
In response to a journalist’s suggestion comparing the fence on the border with Belarus and the barrier being built in the US on the border with Mexico, Andrzej Duda said he was talking about the problem in Europe to show Americans that they are not the only country affected by this phenomenon.
The program also recalled the death of a Polish soldier who died after being stabbed by a man trying to break through the barrier on the border between Poland and Belarus.
““Full Measure” is a program hosted by journalist Sharyl Attkinson on local American television stations owned by the Sinclair Broadcasting Group, known for its ties to Donald Trump’s entourage and right-wing editorial line. It is the second largest media group in the United States in terms of the number of television stations it owns.
