Autumn in North Rhine-Westphalia continues to show its unpleasant side with stormy winds, rain and even thunderstorms. The German Weather Service (DWD) said on Thursday that strong gusts to storms are expected, even at low altitudes, and thunderstorms and individual showers are expected from the afternoon onwards. Isolated tornadoes cannot be ruled out. Maximum values are between 17 and 20 degrees, at higher altitudes around 15 degrees.
The outlook for the start of the weekend remains gloomy. According to meteorologists, rain, some of it thundery, will initially hit the country on Friday night. From Friday afternoon it will be mostly cloudy with occasional showers. Strong gusts of wind are also still possible. Temperatures between 14 and 18 degrees and slightly lower in the mountains. People should also prepare for a change in the weather on Saturday with local rain and cooler temperatures.
