Should the National Electoral Commission accept money from PiS? A clear statement from a minister in Tusk’s government

On Thursday, the National Electoral Commission will probably decide on the financial report of the PiS election commission. Jarosław Kaczyński’s party is accused of using budget money to finance its election campaign, which is illegal. Campaign activities were supposed to include, among others: money from the Justice Fund managed by the Ministry of Justice. But the picnics during which the 800plus programme was promoted were also supposed to have an electoral character.

Izabela Leszczyna: The minister cannot even go to an election picnic in a company car

Leszczyna was asked whether the National Electoral Commission should withdraw money from PiS subsidies and grants. She answered in the affirmative to this question, although she admitted that her ministry did not inform the National Electoral Commission about the irregularities detected regarding the use of money from the Ministry of Health for the election campaign.

– This is the only chance for politicians of all stripes to understand that public money is sacred, that being a minister is being a high-ranking state official and when I run for deputy I do not have the right to use even a company car to take me to an electoral picnic – she said.

Izabela Leszczyna on PiS campaign financing: a huge fraud

– As a candidate for parliament for several terms, when I hung a poster on a pole that was not paid for by my commission, I received an appeal: take it down immediately, or we will be penalized – Leszczyna also said. In her opinion, the PiS election commission should have reacted in the same way.
