“She looked so much like Sridevi Garu”

Jr NTR who will share screen space with Janhvi Kapoor in the upcoming film Devarasaid the actress looks like her mother, the late actress Sridevi. Animal director Sandeep Reddy Vanga hosted a chat with the cast of Devara where the actor shared that he remembers Sridevi Garu. “I remember there was this photo shoot where we did a kind of look test. There was this picture of her that we posted where she was sitting on a boat looking at the camera. She looked so much like Sridevi garu. the angles, she just looks like her. We tried to shoot it on camera as well, but I don’t think you can capture it in the angles, or the way he smiles that Sridevi garu memory back,” Jr NTR said on the show.

Janhvi responded and said, “It’s strange for me to say this, but I feel it more when I perform and speak in Telegu. I don’t know if it makes sense. It just felt like home to me.”

Devara also stars Jr NTR, Janhvi Kapoor, Saif Ali Khan, Prakash Raj, Srikanth and Shine Tom Chacko. Produced by Yuvasudha Arts and NTR Arts, the film has cinematography by Rathnavelu ISC, production designer Sabu Cyril and editing by Sreekar Prasad.

Originally planned as a standalone film, Devara has been split into two parts, with the first part hitting theaters on September 27. Post-Devara, Jr NTR will next be seen opposite Hrithik Roshan in War 2.
