A 30-year-old woman was bitten by a shark while catamaraning in the southwest of the Spanish island of Gran Canaria.
A German tourist died on Monday evening after being attacked by a shark 500 kilometres off the coast of Spain’s Canary Islands, sea rescue services told AFP.
The 30-year-old was bitten by a shark while sailing a catamaran 448 kilometres southwest of the island of Gran Canaria on Monday afternoon. They said she lost a leg and died of a heart attack a few hours later on the Spanish rescue helicopter that evacuated her.
