Javanproduced by Red Chillies Entertainment, the Tamil and Telugu versions were also released nationwide. The high-octane action film directed by Atlee was a hit. The film grossed over Rs 1,100 crore worldwide.
The film has Shah Rukh in dual roles – Vikram Rathore and his son Azad. Vijay Sethupathi played the antagonist and Nayanthara helped Azad in his fight against the corrupt system. The film received great reviews.
In his review for NDTV, film critic Saibal Chatterjee wrote of the film: “Filled with all the ingredients you’d expect from a high-octane action film, Javan is a strikingly meta vehicle where a star communicates directly with his fan base and talks about topics that need attention. In that sense, it is somewhat like the 2017 Vijay starrer Mersal, Atlee’s third directorial venture.”
