The 24th International Indian Film Academy (IIFA) Awards got bigger and better. How do you ask? Shah Rukh Khan and Karan Johar are all set to host the awards night which will be held from 27th to 29th. September on Yas Island in Abu Dhabi, reports news agency ANI. Shah Rukh Khan, who is hosting the 24th IIFA in a statement shared by the IIFA team, said, “IIFA is a celebration of Indian cinema that resonates across the globe and some of its journey over the years has been incredible. I look forward to rekindling the energy of IIFA , passion and panache to be revived as we gear up for an unforgettable celebration of Indian cinema this September,” an ANI report stated.
Meanwhile, Karan Johar had this to say about the hosting gig: “For over two decades, IIFA has been a crucial part of my journey. My father, who has vast industry experience and insight, was a prominent member of IIFA’s advisory board in its early days. He contributed to its mission to celebrate Indian cinema. His collaboration It was a source of immense pride to join IIFA, further cementing our family’s deep connection with the Indian film industry and its international reach for an unprecedented third show this September 27-29 with my dear friend Shah Rukh Khan.”
Shahid Kapoor will perform at IIFA this year. Events begin with the IIFA Utsavam, celebrating the best of South Indian cinema on September 27, followed by the IIFA Grand Awards on September 28. The last part of the party includes IIFA Rocks. will be held on September 29.
Shah Rukh Khan and Karan Johar’s friendship goes back a long way. They worked together Kuch Kuch Hota Hai in 1998. KJo has directed Shah Rukh in films like Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham, Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna and My name is Khan. FYI, Karan Johar was Shah Rukh’s co-star Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge.
