North Korea fired several short-range ballistic missiles again, according to South Korea’s military. The General Staff in Seoul said the missiles were fired northeastward at about 6:50 a.m. (local time) on Wednesday.
The points will now be analyzed. The military is in close contact with Tokyo and Washington. Japan confirmed that the missiles were fired. The Japan Coast Guard urged ships to be more vigilant.
North Korea fired several short-range missiles into the East Sea, also known as the Sea of Japan, on Thursday, according to the South Korean military. It was the North’s first weapons test since early July. Relations between North and South Korea are at an all-time low. North Korean leader Kim Jong Un announced in early August that he would reinforce North Korean forces on the border with South Korea with 250 ballistic missile launchers.
North Korea has also stepped up cooperation with Russia in recent months. The United States and South Korea have accused Pyongyang of supplying weapons and missiles to Russia for its war against Ukraine. Kiev has also confirmed that North Korean ammunition used by Russia has been found at the site of attacks in Ukraine. Pyongyang has dismissed the allegations as “absurd.”
