“Major flooding is occurring” on the Grand Morin river in Seine-et-Marne, Vigicrues said Friday in its 6 a.m. bulletin.

“The disturbance that hit the region between Wednesday and Thursday brought very significant accumulations to the Grand Morin basin as well as the Marne. A new, weaker disturbance is expected” on Friday at the end of the day, Vigicrues added.

“After this rain, Grand Morin experienced a rapid and significant increase on the night of Wednesday to Thursday and continued to increase throughout last Thursday. The maximum value is now very close to the Pommeuse”, north of Seine-et-Marne, according to meteorologists.

Isère has been downgraded to yellow “flood” alert.

Red alert lifted in Guadeloupe

Additionally, Météo-France has lifted the red alert for “heavy rain and storms” in Guadeloupe, downgrading the archipelago to yellow alert, according to its latest bulletin. Guadeloupe has been placed on red alert for “heavy rain and thunderstorms” due to the passage of a tropical wave that caused heavy rain on Thursday.
