Speaking as a representative of the Legislative Assembly (Alesc), state deputy Mário Motta stressed that when he came to Florianópolis to carry out functions in the areas of education and sports, on both occasions, the Minister of Foreign Affairs was Salomão Ribas. He also spoke about his role in the anti-corruption movement held in Alesc recently.

– I came to give a big hug to the family. When I arrived in Santa Catarina, Salomão Ribas was still a political commentator for RBS TV. But he was very important in establishing the company in Santa Catarina because he brought the institutional side of the State and became our collaborator, giving the company a local color, very much identified with the culture of Santa Catarina. He was a friendly, charismatic person, someone who always had a positive and happy word, who left a legacy for the State – commented the entrepreneur Pedro Sirotsky, RBS shareholder.

For businessman Alaor Tissot, former president of the Federation of State Business Associations (Facisc), the death of Salomão Ribas is a loss for Santa Catarina because of his way of life and the development of his activities in politics.

– Salomão Ribas showed that it is possible to be serious, honest, take care of your family and be friends with everyone. That is his way. For example, he participated in the anti-corruption campaign with the prosecutor Affonso Ghizzo Neto – Tissot stressed.

The businessman also cited the fact that the former TCE president was a staunch advocate for quality education. I always say that without education there is no way. One of his concerns is the fact that many families today are leaving their children’s education to schools rather than doing it at home.

The funeral of Salomão Ribas Júnior took place in the House of Representatives on Tuesday morning. The coffin was draped with the flag of the Academia Catarinense de Letras (ACL). It ended with a mass and, after that, the burial took place in the Jardim da Paz Cemetery. He is survived by his wife Carlota, his sons Ricardo and Marcelo, two daughters-in-law and three grandchildren.
