Samsung’s One UI 7 update could soon be rolling out to beta testers in the coming weeks, according to a report. The One UI 6 update was based on Android 14, while the upcoming version will be based on Android 15, which is expected to roll out to Google’s Pixel phones. While Samsung hasn’t yet provided any details about the next major update to its smartphone’s operating interface, we can expect a demonstration at the company’s upcoming developer conference next month.
Samsung subsidiaries begin One UI 7 beta testing
A report from SamMobile, citing anonymous sources, claims that local Samsung affiliates are currently testing the One UI 7 beta update and that the company will likely roll out the One UI 7 beta update to testers as part of the company’s beta program. Samsung is expected to introduce new UI improvements this year while doubling down on its AI strategy by bringing new AI features to eligible phones.
According to the publication, the South Korean tech conglomerate has been testing the One UI 7 beta update “for weeks” in China, Germany, India, Poland, South Korea, the U.K., and the U.S. While the company is reportedly testing its software updates in these regions, the upcoming version is reportedly being tested in additional regions later this year.
Samsung One UI 7 Release Schedule (Expected)
Samsung hasn’t provided any details about the upcoming One UI 7 update, but the company has scheduled its annual Samsung Developer Conference 2024 (SDC24) for October 3 in San Jose, California. This is typically when the company shows off the next iteration of its Android smartphone interface, and we can speculate that One UI 7 will launch in late October.
Several smartphones and tablets are expected to receive the One UI 7 update this year, and the company’s timeline for the rollout could depend on the series and each model’s original release date. For example, the latest Galaxy S and Galaxy Z series phones are typically the first to receive the update, followed by older models. Eligible Galaxy A, Galaxy M, Galaxy F, and Galaxy C series models will likely receive the update after the flagship models.
