New Delhi:
Choreographer and director Remo D’Souza recently opened up about the horrific heart attack he suffered in 2020 and how actor Salman Khan came to his rescue. In a live chat on the Mashable India podcast with Mukesh Chhabra, Remo shared how the incident happened while he was at the gym: “I felt uncomfortable after stretching and the pain just wouldn’t go away. I started feeling sick and my wife insisted that we go to the hospital,” he said. On reaching Kokilaben Hospital, doctors informed him that he had suffered a massive heart attack with 100 per cent blockage.
“I laughed because I couldn’t understand how a fitness freak like me could have a heart attack.” However, the doctors told him that his physical condition was the only reason he could walk to the hospital. “It was terrifying. Lord don’t let anyone go through what I did,” he added.
However, the choreographer said that Salman Khan was constantly on the phone with Lizelle, offering support from the moment Remo entered the operating theater until he came out of the ICU. “Salman was there all along. There’s a reason why he’s so loved. He has a heart of gold.”
Remo D’Souza, who started his career as a background dancer, is now a famous choreographer and filmmaker. He is known for choreographing hit numbers in films like Kick, Zero, Bajirao Mastani, Bajrangi Bhaijaan and Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani to name a few.
