“The radar observation system identified and tracked the route on the night of Saturday to Sunday dronethat entered national airspace and then left national territory towards Ukraine”- the Romanian Ministry of National Defense (MApN) reported on Sunday morning.

Two Romanian F-16s from Borcea base were collected to monitor the flight of a Russian unmanned aerial vehicle.

The ministry also reported that in an uninhabited area near the city Periprava there was a “probability of an impact zone.” In other words, fragments of a Russian drone could have fallen there. Ground surveys are being conducted and investigative activities.
The Ministry emphasized that allied structures were kept continuously informed about the situation.
Ro-Alert alerts alert residents
Earlier, the media reported that in the regions bordering Ukraine, in the districts Tulcea and Constantaresidents received at night Ro-Alert Telephone Alertswarning of a possible aerial threat and urging people to take cover.
In the border regions of Romania in the delta Danube Fragments of Russian drones have already fallen. According to Romanian authorities, these were drones used in attacks on Ukraine and Romania itself was not the target of the attack.
Bucharest condemned the attacks on Ukrainian ports and civilian infrastructure.
