Russia will be excluded from the ceremony to be held next year to commemorate 80th birthday release by Red Army from the Nazi extermination camps Auschwitz Birkenausaid the local museum.
The museum is located in The Celebrationcity in the south Polandmake the decision to exclude Moscow for the third time since then Russia began his invasion of Ukraine.
“This is the anniversary of the liberation (of the camp). We remember victim, but we also celebrate freedom there,” the museum director said in a statement, Piotr Cywinski.
“It’s hard to imagine his presence Russia, who clearly do not understand the value of freedom,” he added.
Until their invasion Ukraine, Russia always attend the liberation ceremony held every year January 27th.
Nazi Germany built extermination camps Auschwitz Birkenau after invading Poland in World War II.
The camp became a symbol of the genocide committed against six million people. European Jews, one million of them died there between 1940 and 1945.
