The iPad Air series got a minor update this year with new 11- and 13-inch models powered by the Apple M2 processor, but both still featured Liquid Retina IPS LCD displays.
An improved OLED display is expected to join the Air lineup in 2026, according to a new report from South Korea. ElecSamsung Display is touted as the primary screen supplier for the next-generation iPad Air. These will be single-layer OLED screens, rather than the tandem OLEDs used in the latest iPad Pros.
A previous report from last year also gave the same 2026 date for the iPad Air OLED and suggested that we might also see an iPad Mini with an 8.7-inch OLED display.
