Rodrigo Negão, the murderer of a journalist in 2019, was shot dead in the Center of Maricá

Rodrigo José Barbosa da Silva, known as Rodrigo Negão, was shot dead in the community of Saco das Flores, in Maricá, in the Rio de Janeiro Metropolitan Region on Friday evening (27). Rodrigo is one of the main suspects in the murder of journalist Robson Giorno which occurred in 2019.

According to information from the Military Police, Rodrigo was rescued by his family members and taken to Conde Modesto Leal Hospital, where he underwent surgery, but did not survive his injuries. Until now, the party responsible for this crime has not been found.

Rodrigo Negão also faces charges of involvement in the deaths of three other people: journalist Romário Barros, councilor Ismael Breve and his son, lawyer Thiago Marins. He remained in prison for almost a year, but was released from prison.

The Niterói and São Gonçalo Homicide Police Station (DHNSG) was called and is investigating the cause of Rodrigo’s death. An investigation is underway to determine the authorship and motivation of the crime.
