Actor, director and theatre producer Roberto Frota died this Tuesday morning (24), at the age of 85, a victim of lung cancer. He found out more than a year ago and could not fight pneumonia, the information was confirmed by his ex-wife, actress Ângela Vieira.
Roberto was hospitalized on Monday (23) and his condition deteriorated rapidly. He died in Rio de Janeiro, where he lived.
With over 50 years of careerFrota participated in more than 40 TV Globo soap operas and productions, such as “Vale Tudo”, “Terra e Paixão”, “Amor Perfeito”, “Vai na Fé”, “Mulheres Apaixonadas”, “Riacho Doce”, “Pedra sobre Pedra” , “Tieta” and “Sítio do Pica-Pau Amarelo”. Her last work on TV was in the soap opera “Vai na Fé”, last year, on Globo.
He also participated in important theater plays, such as “Bonitinha, mas Ordinary” and “Adorável Hamlet”, and is the author of the book “If I were you”, which was later made into a film and was a national success with Tony Ramos and Gloria Pires.
The wake will be held this Wednesday (25), between 12 noon and 3 pm. The actor’s body will then be cremated.
