A deputy lieutenant of the Military Police was shot while taking his twin children to school, on Rua Raul de Barros Vieira, in Bangu, west of Rio de Janeiro.
The incident occurred on Tuesday afternoon (24/9), when the man and woman were taking their children to school. As he said goodbye to his children with a kiss, the deputy lieutenant was hit by four shots.

The victim was rescued and is being treated at the hospital in serious condition.
Shooting attack
According to information from the g1 portal, the bandits arrived in a black car and two men jumped out of the vehicle. One of them shouted: “You lost.” One of the criminals then shot several times, while the other immediately returned to the car. The police officer still tried to react, but was left lying on the ground.
After the shooting, the criminal took a gun from the police officer’s waist and fled in a car.
The sub-lieutenant was rescued by a police vehicle and taken to the Albert Schweitzer Hospital, in Realengo. After surgery, he was transferred to the company hospital. The officer was hit in the arm, chin, shoulder and back. The children and the woman were not injured.
The police officer was assigned to the Highway Police Battalion. The motive for the crime is not yet known. The 34th DP (Bangu) is investigating the case.
