Texas, USA.– The family of one of the workers killed in a chemical leak at Pemex’s Deer Park refinery has filed a wrongful-death lawsuit against the company and its partners, according to Telemundo.
Relatives of Jason Scott filed the lawsuit, claiming the man suffered fatal injuries and suffered pain and suffering from the toxic gas.
The family is represented by Kurt Arnold, whose firm is also handling the case of 11 workers injured in the accident. Two contractors died and 35 people were treated for hydrogen sulfide exposure last Thursday, October 10.
The dead workers have been identified as Jason Edward Scott and Jose Wilfredo Perez, according to local media.
The company said in a statement that it is aware of the litigation and will cooperate with local, state and federal authorities in the investigation.
