Ukraine will need $12 billion to $15 billion more foreign aid than expected in 2025 due to the costs of the war, Ukraine’s Deputy Finance Minister Olha Zykova said on Wednesday.
The Ukrainian government previously announced that it would need $22.7 billion in foreign aid by 2025, Reuters reported.
Kiev, which now estimates that these needs will increase to approximately $38 billion, has already received $24 billion for these purposes from foreign partners.
Earlier on Wednesday, German Economy Minister Robert Habeck assured that Ukraine would receive $50 billion from G7 countries, most likely by the end of the year, and another $4 billion would be available next year.
In early August, Ukraine received the first tranche of non-refundable budgetary support from the United States through the World Bank, worth $3.9 billion. Kyiv is expected to receive a total of $7.8 billion in direct budgetary assistance from the United States.
