Rehabilitation stays are carried out in groups of at least 20 people with similar rehabilitation needs due to the type of disability. They last at least 14 days. Each group developed a rehabilitation program tailored to the participants’ illnesses. Rehabilitation sessions encourage contact with the environment and independent functioning and stimulate personal development. They are different from trips to sanatoriums National Health Fund that during rehabilitation stays, significant importance is given social activity participants of the trip, with the aim of improving their health within the scope therapeutic rehabilitation.
Who can receive funding for a rehabilitation stay?
Any person with a disability who has a request for referral for a doctor’s stay and judgment on:
- degree of incapacity,
- total or partial incapacity for work,
- disability – if he is under 16 years of age,
- disability group, issued before January 1, 1998,
- permanent or long-term incapacity for farm work, issued before January 1, 1998,
- parent of a person with a disability who meets the above conditions – if that person is under 18 years of age.
If doctor additionally indicate and justify in the application that the person with a disability needs a guardian – you can also request caregiver allowance.
The person who will be the guardian must meet the following conditions:
- he is not in the selection for the tournament,
- it is not a person with a disability who needs someone’s care,
- is over 18 years old,
- are between 16 and 18 years old – if you are a family member of a person with a disability and live with them.
Income criteria for co-financing a rehabilitation stay
Person with disabilityhave a certificate, to apply for financing for a rehabilitation stay, must meet the income criterion. The average monthly income, within the meaning of the provisions relating to family benefits, divided by the number of people in the same household, determined for the quarter prior to the month in which the application is submitted, does not exceed the value of: 50% average salary per person in a shared family, 65% average salary of a single person.
If these amounts are exceeded, the funding will automatically be reduced by the amount by which the income was exceeded. However, if the applicant’s financial or personal situation is difficult, it is possible to: District Family Assistance Center provide a written explanation, the financing may be paid without reduction.
