The Red Magic 9S Pro+ launched in July, equipped with a “leading version” of the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset, this one with the model number SM8650-AC. And that, combined with a gaming-ready cooling system, allowed the phone to top the AnTuTu performance charts in August.
Each month, the benchmark publishes two charts for the previous month: one for flagships, the other for mid-range devices. The ranking is based on the average score of all benchmark runs in the previous month (August in this case), excluding models with fewer than 1,000 runs.
As you can see, the Red Magic 9S Pro+ is right behind the OnePlus Ace 3 Pro. In third place is the iQOO Neo9S Pro+, followed by the Asus ROG Phone 8 Pro, which was number one. In fifth place is the iQOO Neo9S Pro, followed by the Redmi K70, vivo X100 Ultra, vivo X100 Pro, vivo X100, and OnePlus 12.
Of the top ten devices, six are powered by some version of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, while the remaining four use the MediaTek Dimensity 9300 or 9300+. Moving on to the upper mid-range category, the Snapdragon 7+ Gen 3 has long dominated the market and still has no competition.
The top two spots are occupied by phones powered by this chipset, the OnePlus Ace 3V and the Realme GT Neo6 SE. In second place is the Redmi K70E with the Dimensity 8300-Ultra, and in fourth is the Realme GT Neo5 SE with the Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2. The same chipset also finds its place in the Redmi Note 12 Turbo in fifth place.
The top ten is rounded out by iQOO Z8 (Dimensity 8200), iQOO Neo7 SE (Dimensity 8200), OnePlus Ace (Dimensity 8100-Max), Redmi Note 12T Pro (Dimensity 8200) and Oppo K10 5G (Dimensity 8000-Max).
