According to information obtained by AFP, Gims and his partner, nicknamed Demdem, in the complaint filed on August 26, accuse Booba of “attacking” them “for six years”, “emboldened” by “an absolutely impressive number” of messages, and creating “a terrible cyber-harassment situation” by his fans.
“Toxic harassment”
Their lawyer, Me David-Olivier Kaminski, responded to the complaint with the following: “It is time to put an end to this toxic harassment. Harassment is not about speaking your mind, it is about committing a crime and having to answer for it in court one day.”
According to the complainants, who refer to numerous messages attributed to Booba on social networks, attacks are made on Gims’ “physicality”, with Booba constantly posting photos of the person without his glasses, which he wears. In another message, Booba would write: “You look like a dirty witch cat food”.
The plaintiffs also cite numerous attacks on Demdem. One of Booba’s latest tracks, Dolce Camara, is targeted by the complaint as the “climax” of the abuse the couple allegedly suffered. In that track, which she sings with SDM, Booba specifically says: “We love them fresh, very michtos (editor’s note: slang for a woman who is attracted to money, who knows how to get paid like Demdem).”
Account closure
In an interview with “Parisien” published on Sunday, Booba praises the success of this “pure rap track” […] In a showdown I will attack Gims’ wife who insulted my daughter. In other messages the “Duke” of Boulogne would describe Demdem as a “layer”, liken her to “a whore” or present her in “her underwear in a particularly sexualized context and setting”. Finally, the plaintiffs denounced the private message that Booba was supposed to send to Demdem with the words: “Give your son of a bitch husband a shout.”
According to the plaintiffs, “the acts of harassment and cyberstalking carried out by Mr. Elie Yaffa, alias Booba, are intended to be reproduced on a large scale by the millions of people who currently follow him on social networks.” According to them, this cyberstalking, which was a “media nightmare”, would also cause “serious loss of income from their image” and “disruption of the daily lives of their children”.
