According to the company, the technical glitch at Deutsche Bahn in the Frankfurt area has been resolved. Local and long-distance transport is gradually resuming operations. However, delays may still occur.
The disruption to rail traffic in the Rhine-Main region has been resolved. “The affected connections for long-distance and regional traffic are now being restarted,” Deutsche Bahn announced.
However, rail travelers should expect restrictions until the end of the service, and a company spokesperson advised people to check connections before travelling.
S-Bahn traffic was also affected.
In the early afternoon, a technical malfunction caused major disruption to rail traffic in central Germany. Train radios in the greater Frankfurt area went down. All trains traveling to or from Frankfurt were affected.
According to railway information, the train was delayed for more than two hours. DB Regio said all local and S-Bahn traffic in the Rhine-Main area was affected.
Frankfurt is one of Europe’s most important hubs, with around 1,200 regional and long-distance trains running regularly every day.
