In 2023, companies of the InPost capital group registered in our country paid much more to the Polish tax authorities than in the previous year, because they significantly improved their profitability. More than half of the income tax paid is due to InPost, which last year with an increase in revenues from PLN 4.13 to PLN 5.3 billion, more than doubled its profit: on an operating basis from PLN 441.69 to PLN 857.61 million, and on a net basis – from PLN 313.16 to PLN 689.17 million.

Consequently total corporate income tax in the financial statements increased from PLN 70.26 to PLN 161.29 million, of which the current tax amount – from PLN 76.76 to PLN 150.51 million, and the deferred – from PLN -6.5 to PLN 10.77 million

While InPost Paczkomaty achieved last year an increase in revenues from PLN 1.22 to PLN 1.44 billion i operating profit from PLN 712.44 to PLN 788.41 million, and with financial costs much higher than last year its net profit decreased from PLN 364.16 to PLN 346.99 million, and the amount of income tax increased from PLN 134.53 to PLN 142.41 million.

In practice, last year the company handed over PLN 100.07 million to the tax office (compared to PLN 99.54 million a year earlier)and the amount of deferred tax increased from PLN 34.99 to PLN 42.34 million.

This is yet another year in which our company pays more taxes than all of its competitors combined, 2.5 times more! This is a record disproportion!!! – emphasized Rafał Brzoska on his social media profiles.

He said that in the case of his company the amount of IRC paid was 4.7%. And he calculated how much this share is in the case of Polish companies competing in the parcel market: 2.55 percent for GLS, 0.9 percent for UPS, 0.8 percent for DPD (in practice: approximately PLN 33 million in corporate tax with almost PLN 4 billion in revenue), 0.7 percent for FedEx, 0.17 percent for Shenker, 0.07 percent for Ruch and only 0.03 percent for DHL.

Brzoska noted that the Polish company DHL, with revenues of almost PLN 2.6 billion last year, paid only approximately PLN 1 million to our tax office, while the entire DHL capital group paid 1.6 billion euros in taxes. – The vast majority goes to the German budget!!! – he emphasized.

As we have described in detail, in the list of the largest corporate income tax payers for 2022 compiled by the Ministry of Finance, InPost Paczkomaty ranked fifth in terms of taxes paid (only operators Play and Plus, Allegro and T-Mobile Polska paid more to the tax office), while Inpost ranked second. The ministry has not yet published data for last year.

As we recently reported, in the second quarter of 2024, the entire InPost capital group – which also includes many foreign companies, including the French operator Mondial Relay acquired a few years ago – with a revenue increase of 22.5%. up to PLN 2.6 billion, it earned PLN 336.6 million net. It paid PLN 74.3 million in income tax, compared to PLN 80.3 million a year earlier.

While over the whole of last year it increased revenues from PLN 7.06 to PLN 8.84 billion and net profit from PLN 456.4 to PLN 647.4 million, which translated into an increase in the amount of income tax from PLN 212.3 to PLN 284.6 million.
