The Cologne District Court has sentenced two men to long prison terms for kidnapping a psychotherapist. The former therapist patient (40), who the court deemed the mastermind behind the crime, was sentenced to 11 years in prison for kidnapping, robbery and serious bodily harm. His fiancee (55), whom the court described as an “assaulter,” was sentenced to 8 years and 6 months in prison. “During the 16 days of trial, we have dealt with a very unusual and seemingly strange case,” the presiding judge said in his ruling.
