Princess Kate (42) shared some good news with her fans and followers on Monday (September 9). The official Kensington Palace X channel shared a touching video of Prince William’s wife (42) on vacation in Norfolk with her family. Kate wrote a touching comment. Among other things, she announced that she had completed chemotherapy.
Return to royal duties
“I can’t tell you how relieved I am that summer is coming to an end and I’m finally done with chemo,” the 42-year-old begins her post. “The last nine months” have been “incredibly difficult” for Kate’s family and herself. She describes her cancer as “complicated, scary, and unpredictable for everyone involved.”
Princess Kate said she was “appreciative of the simple but important things in life.”
Going forward, the Princess of Wales now wants to focus on “doing everything I can to be cancer-free”. Despite completing chemotherapy, she says, “The road to healing and full recovery is long and I have to take it day by day.”
Kate would like to make “a few more public appearances” in the coming months, if possible, so she can return to her lighter royal duties. Kate most recently presented the trophy to Spain’s Carlos Alcaraz (21) at Wimbledon nearly two months ago.
After finishing chemotherapy, Kate takes stock of the past few months with X. She writes: “More than anything, this has been a reminder for William and me to reflect and be grateful for the simple but important things in life that many of us take for granted: simply loving and being loved.”
The princess’s deeply personal message is accompanied by a three-minute video showing her playing in the woods and on the beach with her children Prince George, 11, Princess Charlotte, nine, and Prince Louis, six, and her husband Prince William. In the video, William and Kate are seen lying on a blanket, hugging and kissing their children.
