Three more people linked to the thefts of luxury passenger cars in Germany have been arrested, the Central Police Investigation Office reports. The detainees have now been charged and have been temporarily detained.
Berlin, Kołbaskowo, Świecko, Gorzów Wielkopolski, Szczecin – this includes: an organized criminal group operated in these cities. Its members did motorcycle theft and luxury passenger car theft in Germany. They then transported these vehicles to Poland and handed them over to other people. The stolen cars were mainly Porsche, Maserati, Jaguar, Jeep, Volkswagen Multivan and California.
Already in June, an indictment against 17 people was filed with the Gorzów Wielkopolski District Court. On Tuesday, it was reported that three more were arrested. This was done by police officers of the Wrocław management of the CBŚP, together with border guard officers from Szczecin.
The detainees committed robberies and thefts using specialized equipment to break security measures on vehicles. They operated the so-called “computer” tactics.
“Members of the group, often using pseudonyms (…) obtained the supplies necessary for the group to achieve its goals, and also took measures to avoid detection of the perpetrators and ensure the safe transportation of goods to Poland (which was achieved mainly through pilot tests of the trips of stolen vehicles to Poland and the concealment of these vehicles in Poland),” the Central Police Investigation Bureau said on Tuesday.
The stolen vehicles immediately found buyers in Poland. Members of the group also engaged in so-called contract robbery. Previously, they selected and ordered specific vehicles for their later interested “clients” from Poland.
