One death, an explosion, kidnapping and shooting. Criminals have been troubling the security authorities for weeks. This week two incendiary devices were detonated in the city of Cologne. Police and prosecutors are convinced that there is a link between crime and organized crime in the Netherlands, they said at a press conference at police headquarters in Cologne on Thursday. They could not announce the success of the investigation, but at least they could report on its progress. It could be about violence in the locker room environment, as well as drug crimes. The police will first conduct more stringent individual checks.
