Police found a woman dead in Schleswig-Holstein and temporarily arrested a 59-year-old man. The man previously stated that he had killed his wife, as announced by the police department and prosecutor’s office in Lübeck.
As indicated in the statement, the 59-year-old man turned himself in to police in Büchen in Lauenburg’s Herzogtum district at around 08:45. He contacted officers by telephone. Police officers later found the woman’s body between Büchen and Witzeeze at the edge of the forest near a footpath. According to police, there are indications that it was the man’s wife who lived separately from him. He is 55 years old.
Woman may be shot – her husband is arrested
Police received information that the woman had been shot. The witness heard a thud. The woman’s wounds also indicated a gunshot. Forensics were supposed to examine the body.
The death squad of the Lübeck criminal police and the prosecutor’s office are investigating the alleged murder. The man must be brought before an investigating judge.
Witzeeze and Büchen are close to the state border with Mecklenburg-West Pomerania.
