A Tu-22M3 long-range bomber crashed in Russia’s Irkutsk Oblast. The crew managed to eject; the pilots’ lives are not in danger.
The crash of the Tu-22M3 long-range bomber occurred near the city Cheremhovo, in Irkutsk Oblast, in the southeastern part of Siberia.
The information was first released by the Telegram channel “112”, but was confirmed by the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation.
The machine worked as designed for years. Judging by the recordings made by eyewitnesses, the plane caught fire in the air.
The Defense Ministry initially stated that the cause of the disaster was a “technical failure”.
The crew of the Tu-33M3 managed to eject. The pilots’ lives are not in danger.
